Ski and snowboarding tunnel in Vuokatti

Ski and snowboarding tunnel in Vuokatti

In 1997, the world’s first ski tunnel was opened on the territory of Vuokatti, a Finnish ski resort. Its length is more than 1 km. Initially the tunnel was used for sportsmen training, but nowadays it became popular among non-professional ski lovers. A lot of modern technologies which control the air temperature and the snow cover inside the complex are applied here. This helps to ski here all year round. You can take all the necessary equipment here and to practice skiing with professional instructors both in groups and individually. There’s a snowboarding tunnel which also works 12 months a year on the territory of the ski resort.

The tunnel is open 7 days a week. The opening hours are: from 8am till 8pm on weekdays and from 8am till 7pm on weekends. The city of Kajaani with its railway station, bus station and airport is situated 30 km from Vuokatti.
