Koli National Park
Koli National Park is located in Eastern Finland in the province of North Karelia.
For nearly a hundred years the park is very popular and recognized as the best embodiment of the lake scenery of Finland. In the center stands the famous hill reserve Ukko-Koli height 347 meters. This is the highest point in South Finland. From this location offers a breathtaking view of the lake Pielinen. Say, the Finnish composer Jean Sibelius was so inspired by the beauty of the landscapes that he asked to pick it up on the top of Mount Royal, where he played for fun.
Koli National Park turns into a mecca for winter sports in the period from November to April. Here are two famous ski resort - Ukko-Koli and Loma-Koli. In winter you can go skiing, snowmobiling, dog sledding, go on a reindeer farm or conquer hills on snowshoes.
Summer in the park can arrange hiking, fishing, kayaking or cope canoeing, horseback riding. The water surface of lakes and woodland wildlife reserve Koli attract thousands of tourists.
Nature Reserve Koli easy access by car to the road signs number 6 after the city of Joensuu. Can also be reached by bus from Joensuu and Kajaani.
