Suomenlinna (Sea Fortress)
Second name Suomenlinna - Suomenlinna. Fortress built in the 18th century, Sweden was protected on the east side. In the 19th century building passed into the possession of Russia and was guarded fairways, which led to St. Petersburg. Through this sea fortress beside her prospered and developed city of Helsinki.
Today, tours are available. Preserved forts and bastions, barracks and coastal submarine during World War II. Majestic walls Sweaborg supplemented unique natural landscapes.
Fortress of Suomenlinna is one of seven facilities in Finland, which are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The road to the fortress of Helsinki is a ten-minute ferry ride, which departs every hour from the Market Square.
