Aboa Vetus & Ars Nova

The museum is located on the banks of the River Aura in downtown Turku Rettig within the palace walls. Is a complex of two museums, which include the Museum of Modern Art and the Museum of Archaeology of medieval Turku. 

Originally founded in 1995, the museum was dedicated only to contemporary art. After some time in the garden of the palace was excavated an entire city block of the Middle Ages, who is now a private museum of archeology Aboa Vetus. 

The Museum of Modern Art Ars Nova presents more than five hundred works best contemporary Finnish artists and the art world. And at the Museum of Archaeology Aboa Vetus can see the ruins of entire streets Monastery quarter of the Middle Ages. 

In the museum complex regular themed events for children and adults. You can also relax in the cozy cafe and visit the gift shop.
